Dear Community,

I am writing to you from the underbelly of the NYC subway system, my spot on the train giving me just enough space to hit pen on paper for the next 20 minutes...

Your support is manifesting MUSIC in this world! ALREADY!

A few days ago, I was so moved to inspire, to sing, perform & create... that I woke up and straight away got dressed to perform; I pulled my white dress over my head and layered on some silver. I drew a stripe from what felt like the corner of my mind, across my brow. I grabbed some bells, a tambourine and a mallet, and wrapped up and headed into an unseasonably warm rain. Sitting on the train, I was completely aware of how unusual my actions were and also my lack of reserve. I had been talking about singing in the station for an entire year. But never went. Now, it was as necessary as breathing.

I got off on a stop that I remembered having that perfect echo chamber effect happening in an out of the way corner.... under the flickering fluorescents, water dripping, cracked concrete and broadway posters, I picked up my tambourine and mallet and lowered my head. 

Music came in waves of drumming and singing and moving. I was so happy to do it. So grateful for the ability... to carve space with sound, to maybe even provide a kind of healing if for only a few seconds... 

The trains stopping and releasing a wave of 20 or so people, coming up the stairs, passing my corner, became meditative somehow. Some stopping, some moving through, some in headphones, some listening. There were moments where I couldn't feel anyone there, my eyes closed, singing light and high then digging in with war, tumbling over new melody, of seemingly ancient origin...

A few dollars were left! A little latina only 4 or 5 years old with her sisters and Dad were the first. A beautiful asian woman who seemed nervous to come too close. Finally, one who thanked me and asked to share the video she had just made. She said she was so happy she chose to come down the stairs she didnt normally choose... I was humbed by what she seemed to think she had discovered!

I am opening up with this, because I know in my heart, this was a direct result of YOUR actions of support. T♥H❤A❥N❤K YOU for fueling this fire. There is no telling what will happen next!

A. Yes! Anyone, anywhere (with a major credit card) can pledge to Kickstarter projects.
